According to Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, a weeklong statewide human trafficking crackdown, known as Operation Buyer’s Remorse, resulted in the arrest of 160 people
The operation aimed to arrest those trying to buy sex and to identify survivors of human trafficking. The crackdown took place from September 25-30, 2023, in every corner of the state.
The youngest person arrested was 17 years old, and the oldest was 84 years old. In addition to arrests for attempting to buy sex, some people were taken into custody.
Nearly 100 law enforcement agencies and service organizations participated in this operation. Search warrants were also executed at 11 massage parlors where human trafficking activities were suspected
