Scientists exploring deep waters off Hawaii spot rare ‘Dumbo octopus’ deep underwater. 

The Dumbo octopus belongs to the genus Grimpoteuthis, which has at least 15 species

They are the deepest-living octopuses known, and can be found up to 13,000 feet below the surface 

They feed on snails, worms, and other animals that they suck up from the ocean floor5. They are also very cute and resemble the Disney character Dumbo the elephant
