Adam Wainwright, nicknamed “Waino” and “Uncle Charlie,” is a former professional baseball pitcher who spent his entire career with the St. Louis Cardinals.

He was selected 29th overall in the first round of the 2000 amateur draft from Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Georgia

The Cardinals gifted Wainwright’s family a dog ahead of his last game with the franchise, fulfilling his promise to his family that they would finally be able to get a dog when he retired

Wainwright retired from baseball after an 18-year career. However, he has already picked up a new gig as a guest commentator for FOX broadcast booth during the Houston Astros’ ALDS matchup
